DPM Lawrence Wong’s wife, Ms Loo Tze Lui, found herself at the centre of attention on social media after videos of her appearance at the swearing-in ceremony surfaced.

Many praised her for her grace and elegance; you’ll understand why in just a bit.

On Friday (15 September), a video edit by @bluebirdconfessions surfaced on TikTok and has since made its rounds on the internet.

The video compiles a few clips of Ms Loo’s appearance at President Tharman’s inauguration, captioned “Bro Lawrence got game man”.

Let’s just say our future Prime Minister’s wife is a stunner lah.

The 27-second video starts with a clip of Ms Loo standing by DPM Lawrence Wong’s side, shaking the hands of the outgoing President, Mdm Halimah Yacob, and Mdm Halimah Yacob’s husband.

Look at Ms Loo’s dress. Such grace. Such elegance. Definitely not from SHEIN or Taobao.

Lawrence Wong really understood the assignment.

The video then shows a clip of the DPM walking down the red carpet alongside his wife. She almost looks like a model here.

Finally, the video wraps up with a clip showing Ms Loo seated and looking in front attentively, all while exuding class and charm.

You would have thought this clip came from a K-Drama if you didn’t know better.

Many netizens praised Ms Loo on her poise, with others adding that she looked like she could be a model or an actress.

DPM Lawrence Wong’s Wife is Currently Vice President at YMCA; Formerly Dabbled in Banking and Funds

Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t appear that Ms Loo is a model or actress. Guess what she does instead?

She is the Vice President of Singapore’s Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA). She has been since May 2021.

Before her current appointment as vice president, she served as a director at the YMCA for five years.

Impressive leh.

The DPM’s wife also runs a single family office (SFO) and has over 25 years of experience in finance and investments.

The name got “lui”; of course, must dabble in finance. 

Before joining the SFO, Ms Loo spent 12 years in corporate finance and wealth management. She also spent four years at an institutional real estate investment fund.

Not the First Time DPM’s Wife Makes Public Appearance

While the DPM has often kept his life private, this is not the first time we’ve seen the DPM’s wife make such public appearances.

The University of Southern California graduate was spotted beside the DPM last August when a few ministers hosted the Brunei Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah for the 8th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme.

If you can’t spot her, she’s on the DPM’s right.

Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean also posted an image where the couple can be seen together.

With Lawrence Wong becoming DPM, suffice it to say that the limelight will increasingly be cast on the couple. With any hope, we’ll get to see more of Ms Loo in the future.
