Cinemas in Singapore resumed operations recently, but several highly anticipated films have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This includes Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Avatar 2, and Mulan, to name a few.
So, if you’ve already seen the Train to Busan sequel, there’s no real reason to go the cinema right now.
Plus, except for a few food ninjas who’ve figured out how to eat and drink without removing their masks, most movie-goers will be bare-faced, gorging on large buckets of popcorn and guzzling their even larger Cokes.
This might make you a little wary of watching a movie in an enclosed theatre, with Covid-19 on the loose.
So, why don’t you watch one from the comfort of your car instead?
Drive-In Movie in Pasir Ris Carpark for Just $18 a Car on 8 Aug; Includes 2 Burgers & 2 Drinks
Bathe your dogs, put on your masks, and remove your socks, because Downtown East has a drive-in movie deal that will knock them off!
The entertainment hub will be screening The Greatest Showman at the Begonia open-air carpark at 8 Aug from 7.30pm to 10pm, according to Eventbrite.
The musical was nominated as the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for the 2018 Golden Globes.
The ticket, which costs $18, includes two Burgers and two Drinks from the Ministry of Burgers. Not bad right? $18 per person for all this?
Except that it’s $18 for a car of up to five patrons.
That means if there are five of you, you’ll only be paying $3.60 each. And if the two burgers and drinks aren’t enough for you, you can also pay an extra $5 for an additional burger and drink.
You don’t even have to leave your car to order or collect your meal. Staff members will be gliding from car to car on roller skates taking orders and delivering tasty food and refreshing beverages.
It’s a lazy person’s paradise, basically.
All you have to do, once you receive your food and drinks, is to tune in to the dedicated radio channel to enjoy the audio of the movie.
There will be safety measures in place, of course, so you don’t have to worry about that.
Available slots are limited though, so you should get your tickets as soon as you can! Walk-ins on the day are allowed, subject to availability, but you won’t get your burgers and drinks if you do so.
In the event of bad weather, a $20 DE Voucher will be refunded to you via e-mail.
Location: Downtown East, 1 Pasir Ris Close, Singapore, 519599
