Any man’s true first love is not their girlfriend or wife.
It’s a beautiful and gorgeous partner that is always there to support them in times of need. Some men prefer sleek and slender, while some men prefer curvy and shapely ones. They may have a reputation of being “high-maintenance” in Singapore, but they’re worth every cent of the effort.
You know what I’m talking about. I’m talking about cars.
Cars are as much a man’s best friend as dogs, and any harm done to them will rarely be tolerated.
This next man is no exception, as his precious vehicle was harmed with (seemingly) no provocation.
Car Bonnet Punched For No Reason(?)
As zebra crossings and traffic lights make up a huge part of the Singapore roads and are shared by both cars and pedestrians, there is always an abundance of cases of conflicts between the two parties at these areas.
Sometimes it’s the driver’s fault, sometimes it’s the pedestrian’s fault, and sometimes it’s up for debate.
And when you feel like you need the support that you are in the right and you want to seek satisfaction, you go to court to the Internet.
A Stomper known as “BB” shared his encounter on the (in)famous Singaporean news website STOMP along with dashcam footage.
While patiently waiting his turn to drive out onto the main road, an unprovoked Caucasian pedestrian – while crossing the road in front BB’s car – casually punched the bonnet of his car and carried on walking.
As seen in the photo supplied by Stomper BB, the punch caused a dent in his bonnet. Perhaps the Caucasian man has been working out with 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 km run every day.
According to BB, he left his car and chased after the Caucasian man and demanded him to stop, but the man merely “gestured at The American Club and walked off”.
To prevent his car from obstructing the road, BB returned to his vehicle to drive off to another spot before returning to his chase, but the Caucasian man was nowhere to be found.
BB stated that he believes he sought refuge inside The American Club and also added that he intended to make a police report.
Was It Really Unprovoked?
Well, for us and anyone else who watched carefully, you may notice that the Stomper BB may not be as innocent and cute as BB-8 after all.
Upon some scrutiny, people will realise that BB actually stopped his car right on top of a zebra crossing. (Image below is a screen capture right before he drove on top of the zebra crossing)
For those who have taken their BTT (Basic Theory Test) before or at least possess some general knowledge, you would know that such an act is a big no-no.
A zebra crossing must be unobstructed at all times. Seeing as the taxi in front of BB as stopped in front of the zebra crossing and behind the yellow box, BB should position his car behind the zebra crossing to allow pedestrians an unobstructed path.
However, with that said, that’s still no reason to punch somebody’s car.
While we all will inevitably meet obnoxious drivers and pedestrians, refrain from resorting to violence. If you assault someone else’s car, karma could bite you instantly.
