However, as with many things on the internet, not everything is as it appears.

Driver Claims Police Car Hit Him & Drove Off; Even Considered Claiming $50K of Medical Injury

A driver is claiming that a police car had hit the rear of his vehicle while he was driving along Orchard Road, causing him to suffer a dizzy spell.

The police car, however, drove off after the alleged accident.

Footage of the incident was posted on SG Road Vigilante’s YouTube channel on Monday (19 Oct).

The video starts off with footage from a dashcam of the car’s rear, showing a police car driving just behind him.

After making a right turn at Orchard Road, the camcar suddenly stops, forcing the police car to jam on the brakes as well.

The police car honks at the camcar, which prompts the driver to move forward a little.

The police car then honks a few more times, presumably in annoyance, before driving off.

The driver said that the police car had bumped into rear of his car and drove off.

He also reportedly suffered from backache and dizzy spells after the alleged accident, though there was very little damage to his car.

He purportedly had to take three days of MC, and intends to claim $50,000 for his injuries.

Netizens, however, are not convinced.

No Evidence of CollisionĀ

Many commenters on YouTube questioned the driver’s claims, saying they didn’t see any proof of a collision nor evidence of the damage done.

Others pointed out that if the police had indeed bumped the rear of the camcar, there’d be an audible sound of the collision, which there wasn’t.

As a driver who has both been bumped and bumped another car’s rear lightly, I can confirm that this is indeed true.

Some netizens speculated that this driver was just another scammer who intended to swindle some money out of the police, but probably forgot that you need extraordinary evidence for such extraordinary claims.

If this driver is indeed a scammer, one has to wonder why he chose this particular day to leave his rationality at home and attempt to scamĀ police officers, of all people.

The police have yet to respond to the claims of the driver, but if they can prove there was no collision, this driver might be in some trouble.
