Everyone knows that in order to drive a vehicle in Singapore, you would have to get a driver’s licence either through any of the driving schools or through a private instructor, which will ultimately lead you to your Traffic Police (TP) test.
And when you drive, you’re not supposed to be on any substances.
However, it seems that not everyone got that memo.

Driver Without Licence Drove Car Without Permission & Fled After Causing a 4-Vehicle Accident
Last Friday, 19 June, a 52-year-old man decided that it was a good idea to drive a car that did not belong to him despite not having a driver’s licence.
We don’t know exactly how long he had been driving, but he ended up causing an accident that involved four vehicles at the junction of Sembawang Road and Gambas Avenue at 10.08am.
So what exactly happened?
A dashboard camera video uploaded onto Facebook page Roads.sg revealed that the black car the 52-year-old man was in beat a red light at the junction at a high speed and rammed right into a blue car. The black car then goes on to hit a bus before coming to a halt.
The blue car spins before coming to a stop as well, and its front bumper is clearly destroyed.
It seems that another car was also damaged but you can’t really see it from the video.
Now, you would think that the 52-year-old driver would have stopped by now and perhaps check on the damage he has caused.
Nope.

Fled Accident Scene & Arrested Later
He fled the area and was later arrested along Canberra Road by the police on the same day.
A representative from the police elaborated and said that the man was arrested for “suspected drug-related and traffic-related offences including dangerous driving, driving without a valid licence and taking of a motor vehicle without owner’s consent.”
Two people seem to have been injured from the accident. A 50-year-old male driver and his 39-year-old female passenger were conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Police investigations are currently going on.
There is a reason why traffic laws are in place, where they forbid anyone without a licence to drive. And another key thing to note is that if you’re not in a state of sobriety, you should not drive.

Things could have been way worse and someone’s life could have been lost at that moment.
Hopefully, both of them can recover soon and justice will be served.
