What were you doing on NDP 2019?
I was out enjoying a movie – Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.
No, I didn’t catch the fireworks. Neither did I wear red and white to show my patriotism.

If you were like me, you might be ashamed to find out that folks from United Arab Emirates did more for our National Day than us.
But first up – you might want to catch up on the highlights of NDP 2019.
UAE’s Tribute to Singapore
Dubai, a city in United Arab Emirates, or UAE for short, made a pretty sweet gesture for our Little Red Dot on our National Day.
One of Dubai’s most famous spots is the Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest building, as featured in the Fast & Furious franchise.
You see, I was paying tribute back to Dubai via the Fast & Furious franchise by watching Hobbs & Shaw.
Jokes aside, the skyscraper showed their love for us by lighting up in our iconic colours.

Call it wayang or PR or whatever you want, I think it’s awesome that on our nation’s birthday, we took a stride further in our good relations with other countries.
Given how famous Dubai is for their nearly unrivalled fireworks, maybe they can share some tips for our NDP fireworks too in the future.
