Drink-Driving is something that Singapore does not tolerate.
It has negatively changed the lives of many and taken a handful as well, which is the reason for the very frequent roadblocks at various places in the city during the wee hours.
Mediacorp actor Edwin Goh, who is arguably quite a prominent in Singapore’s acting scene, has finally posted on social media for the first time after he was convicted of drink-driving on 13 Oct, earlier this month.
Instagram Post Expresses Regret
In an Instagram post which Goh posted on 19 Oct, he captioned: “I am sorry. I deeply regret my action and I want to apologize to the people who love me and care about me. My forward journey will be one of self reflection and a determination to stay on the right path. I am thankful for the hands that uphold me in times of trouble. I will strive to be a better person.”
The caption was accompanied by a photo of the sun shining through a tree.

In the comment section of his post, many celebrities such as Shane Pow, who is one of Goh’s close friends and Desmond Tan can be seen giving support to the actor.
In a statement to The Straits Times, a Mediacorp personnel said that the company does not condone any behaviour that runs afoul of the law.
The spokesperson goes on to mention that they have talked to Goh and says that Goh deeply regrets his actions and assures everyone that it would not happen again.
Internal action will be taken against Goh. During this time, Goh would also have to go through counselling.
What Happened
The 28-year-old actor was driving along Aljunied Road on 7 Sep when he was found to have 81 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath after taking a breathalyser test.
This was a lot more than the prescribed limit of 35mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Goh was given a fine of $6,500 and was disqualified from driving for three years after pleading guilty to one charge of drink-driving.
