The trials and tribulations of local artist, Quan Yifeng, is something which has been often shared by the host herself on talk shows.
Already a household name in the local scene, Quan Yifeng’s battles with depression and her divorce with veteran actor, Peter Yu, in 2009, are familiar topics for viewers who follow her shows closely.
Her close relationship with her daughter, Eleanor Lee, is also widely talked about.
In fact, the mother and daughter pair has a cooking show called, ‘YiFong & Eleanor’s Kitchen’, airing on TV now.
Not only does the show invite close friends of Quan Yifeng’s to cook up a hearty feast, it also focuses on the tight knitted relationship of the host and her daughter.
Recently, Eleanor Lee was nominated in TCCAsia’s Most Beautiful Asian Faces list for 2020: A first-ever for a Singaporean.
But despite the family being public figures, Eleanor, who took her godfather’s surname, doesn’t remember much about Peter Yu.
Eleanor Lee Doesn’t Remember Much About Her Father Due to Her Young Age
Eleanor Lee was invited as a guest in her mother’s talk show on meWatch called Hear U Out recently.
The two-part series talks about the growing up years of Eleanor Lee among other topics.
In the second part of the talk show, Eleanor Lee spoke about her father.
When asked by Quan Yifeng on the things she remembers about her father, Eleanor Lee mentioned that she didn’t have much impression of her father as she was still young.
The only memories she has of her father was their overseas trips and the disputes her parents had.
Back then, when Eleanor Lee was still of a tender age, she felt afraid whenever she heard her parents quarrelling.
At the same time, Eleanor Lee felt helpless as she couldn’t do anything to resolve the disputes between her parents.
Mother Played Dual Roles
Raised in a single-parent family, Eleanor Lee mentioned in the talk show that she doesn’t really know what the role of a father figure is.
Though the young starlet has to deal with the news of her parents’ divorce at an early age, she doesn’t regret that there is a lack of a father figure in the family.
This is because Quan Yifeng played the dual role of both a mother and a father to Eleanor Lee.
