What’s even worse than a perverted boss who keeps shooting you a wiry grin?

A boss that makes you a scapegoat.

And this driver was apparently so fed up by his boss’ attitude that he turned himself in to the police.

Damn…

What happened?

The driver, Mr Fu Zhenhui, 60, told Shin Min Daily News that he was recommended to his ex-employer, a businessman, through a friend in July 2017.

The businessman was finding a driver and offered Mr Fu a job.

“After both sides negotiated, we agreed that I will drive for him on the weekends and some other dates,” Mr Fu said. “My salary would be based on the number of trips.”

“So his secretary and I went to a dealer on July 22 to rent a car.”

Mr Fu claimed that after he drove to the businessman’s condominium, he passed the car keys over.

However, at the end of July, he got a call from the police informing him that he was involved in a hit-and-run.

“The accident happened on the afternoon of July 29 in Chinatown, and two vehicles were involved — the car rented under my name, and another car.

“During the time of the accident, I was at my mother’s place for the whole day.”

The businessman allegedly called him two days after the call, and requested for him to take the rap.

The businessman was persuasive, saying that it was just a fine, and that the vehicle was registered under his name anyway.

As an added measure, the businessman reportedly threatened to hurt Mr Fu and his friends should he not agree to it.

“I didn’t have a choice.

“I called the police and gave a false account as he had instructed me to.

“As a result, I was fined $1,100 and got nine demerit points for the hit-and-run.”

But that wasn’t the end

Mr Fu claimed to receive another six summons, as well as a notice stating that he had flouted traffic rules, which tallied up to $200 in fines.

Mr Fu went to confront the businessman about it, but the latter only paid an $11 fine.

That was when Mr Fu realised that his ex-employer had no intention of settling the fines.

Mr Fu, deciding that he had enough, surrendered to the police and said that he would take responsibility for his earlier false testimony.

Media

Reporters have tried to reach out to the businessman, but attempts were unsuccessful.

On the police’s side, they have confirmed the case, and said that investigations are ongoing.

Well, how do I put this…

It says a lot when you choose the police over your boss.

Not saying that the police aren’t a friendly bunch but well…
