Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the most beautiful of them all?
Beauty pageants are competitive. There are so many beautiful ladies out there with their own unique physical attributes. Not to mention, everyone looks so stunning with their crowns and sparkly dresses.
Miss International 2019
There is an upcoming pageant, Miss International 2019, to be held on 15 November. This is a Japanese-based International beauty pageant, organised by The International Culture Association.

As the event is approaching, Malaysian media has been showering their contestant, Charmaine Chew, with lots of attention and praises.

No doubt, all of them looks gorgeous. So it is not a surprise that many Malaysians were hyping up Chew.
However, with that picture posted, there were a number of people shooting Singapore’s representative down.
“Did the Singapore girl have too much surgery, or did the surgery fail?”
“Did Singapore send a canteen makcik? Just asking”
No, we didn’t, and she doesn’t deserve such backlash. Thankfully, there were others who defended her by pointing out that it was just a badly cropped picture.
“The Singapore girl is actually pretty”.

Yes she is, and its not nice to insult someone just based on one cropped photo of her.
Miss Singapore International
There is a reason why she was chosen. Singapore’s representative, Charlotte Lucille Chia, was crowned Miss Singapore International on 13 July.
Furthermore, Chia is a 21-year-old model, according to her Instagram account.

She can be seen in one Instagram picture proudly wearing a tiara, with the caption, “You should see me in a crown.”
While it is inevitable that appearances will be judged in a beauty pageant, it is still harsh to bash her like that.
After all, there is no point in comparing an apple to an orange. Both are equally delicious, just like how everyone is beautiful in their own ways.
Though there are some people who prefer an apple over a robot.
