Everything About The Youth Who Raped Cousin While On Bail For Raping Ex-GF

There’s a saying that goes like this: A leopard never changes its spots.

And it really fits in this situation.

Because what else do you call a person who commits a crime, gets trialled for it and commit it again?

A monster.

Youth Raped Ex-Girlfriend With Family Outside

The youth first met his girlfriend in secondary school. The couple frequently argued and broke up on Feb 2015.

Despite that, they had sex willingly after they broke up in Mar and Sep 2015.

In Nov 2015, the man turned up at a coffee shop near his home where his ex-girlfriend was having dinner with her friends.

He offered to send her home on his electric bicycle. The condition? She has to accompany him back to his home to pick up the device.

Thinking nothing of it, she agreed and went home with him.

At the time, his father, grandmother and younger sister were eating in the living room. He told her to wait in his room while he goes to the toilet.

Then, he raped her in his room.

Told Everyone To ‘Keep Quiet’

After the deed was done, he forced his girlfriend to kneel on the ground in front of him.

There was a moment where she screamed and they got into a scuffle. His grandmother called out to check what’s going on but he did not reply.

His father managed to open his bedroom door with a spare key to find his girlfriend in a mess.

The youth then got his friends to drop by his home and told them that the girl was “arrogant”, which was why he raped her.

He also asked for everyone to “keep quiet” and only allowed the girl to leave after she begged for it.

At around 11.30pm, she was finally allowed to leave the house and she lodged a police report shortly after.

One Year Later

The youth was undergoing investigation for raping his girlfriend the year before. He was out on bail when he managed to get his second victim, his 16-year-old cousin, to go to his home.

He was supposed to help her with a dye job.

When she arrived, she realised that it was just the two of them and they sat in the living room chatting about their sexual experiences.

The youth then suggested that they move their conversation to the master bedroom, to which she, unfortunately, agreed.

It was in the master bedroom that he raped her, despite her telling him that she has a boyfriend and that they were cousins.

He forced her to delete their text messages right in front of him and made her promise not to lodge a police report.

Later that day, after she was allowed to leave his home, she made a police report.

Request For Reformative Training Denied

His lawyer has initially asked for reformative training (RT) for his client.

Reformative training results in a criminal record, but is less harsh than going to prison. This form of sentencing is only given to individuals above the age of 14 and below 21 years old.

He said that the youth has a “high chance of rehabiliation” and prison would be a “negative influence” for him.

Unfortunately, his client didn’t enter NUS and didn’t have a high GPA the court disagree and found him “unremorseful” and uncooperative towards authority.

He was sentenced to six years and nine months’ jail with six strokes of the cane.

Planning To Appeal The Sentence

Was the youth remorseful? Does he truly regret the sentence? No one knows.

What we know is that he is planning to appeal his sentence and is currently out on $20,000 bail pending the appeal.

Let’s hope he doesn’t commit the same thing again because the hole he’s dug for himself is pretty deep.

For each count of rape, he could be jailed up to 20 years, fined and caned.
