When I woke up this morning, it was to a smell that was both familiar and unfamiliar.
At first, I thought it was someone burning offerings. Because hungry ghost month mah.
Then I realised that people usually burn offerings on the first day, the 15th and the last day of the hungry ghost month which is 31st Aug 2016.
So yes, the haze is back.

If you’ve not known yet, Indonesia has announced that the haze season is back in business this year.
An announcement was made on 19 Aug (Friday) that the smog has started spreading across the waterway separating Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Reports of burning smell in Singapore
A burning smell was detected in parts of Singapore on Friday morning (Aug 26). Several people took to social media and called in to Channel NewsAsia to say that they could smell the haze from different parts of the country. – channelnewsasia.com

The NEA PSI-Readings
The PSI-readings practically sky-rocketed at 7 am this morning.
24-Hour
Since 7 am, the 24-hour PSI reading increased drastically to the range of 52-70 at 11 am.
3-Hour PSI Readings
Similar to 24-hour PSI, the 3-hour PSI reading also shot up drastically at 7 am this morning to 128.
The New 1-hr Readings
West and North most heavily hit
While the south, east and central of Singapore 1-hour PSI-reading are below 100 at 11 am, the North and West are the hit the hardest by the haze situation.
The west of Singapore has a 1-hour PSI-reading of 181 while the north has a 1-hour PSI- reading of 124.
Looks like we’re not out of the woods yet.
