Health organisations and governments across the world have been so preoccupied with the Covid-19 virus that they’ve let another, equally dangerous disease spread: boredom.
Since the dawn of time, humans have been coming up with new ways to entertain themselves.
Whether it’s watching movies about a man wearing an oversized bat suit or dancing with sweaty strangers in a dark, noisy club, there is a long list of activities we’ve come up with to have fun.

But now, with the coronavirus keeping us in our homes, that list of things has been significantly shortened.
And when you tire of binging TV shows and playing video games, you might start doing some strange, strange things to pass the time.
Ex-SIA Girl so Bored at Home, She Worked at Home for All to Watch
Take this former SIA flight attendant, for example.
If I were to show you this photo, you’d probably assume she’s heading to the airport for one of her flights.
But wait, everyone is supposed to stay at home, right?
Yes, that’s why this woman, Winnie Heng, filmed herself being a flight attendant in her room and bathroom in her Tampines HDB flat.
Aptly titled “Have I gone mad?”, Heng uploaded the video to Facebook, and netizens were certainly amused.

Welcomed & Served ‘Passengers’
The video starts off as any actual flight would, with the flight attendant welcoming the passengers on the plane.
Only this time there were no passengers, and, uh, there wasn’t a plane either.
She then boarded the imaginary ‘flight’ with her luggage, which suspiciously looked a lot like her bedroom.
Then it came to time to serve the passengers.
Heng pushed a chair with a selection on drinks on it, including gin, ice lemon tea, and Pepsi, and asked her customer: “Excuse me, ma’am, would you like a drink?”

Unfortunately, the only customer in the vicinity was a dog, and because this particular dog couldn’t speak English, it couldn’t give an answer when Heng asked if it would like “coffee, tea, or me”.
So Heng rightly assumed that her canine customer wanted a “treat treat only”.
In-Flight Announcement
Heng then made an in-flight announcement in her bathroom, using a bidet as her microphone.
I personally wouldn’t place an object that spends most of its existence being close to buttholes near my mouth, but hey, whatever takes away your boredom, right?
At the end of the video, Heng folds a sheet of toilet paper into a triangle.

Wanted To Make People Laugh
Speaking to Mothership, Heng said she was inspired by an attendant in Malaysia doing a similar video, and decided to come up with her own version.
She wanted to make people laugh during this gloomy period, and make them feel better about the current situation.
Heng said she was previously with SIA as a flight stewardess for seven years, and is currently a property sales consultant.
But it’s clear from this video that while she’s no longer a flight attendant, she certainly hasn’t forgotten how to be one.
Do Something Instead of Moping
As Heng shows here, there’s no point moping around during this circuit breaker when you can spend time doing things to entertain yourself and your friends online.
Whether it’s spending more time playing with your kids or writing that short story you always wanted to, there’s no better time to do it.
