Criminals are, by definition, not great at being law-abiding members of society.
Some criminals arouse disgust and shock with their appalling crimes, while others make us laugh with their denseness:

But every now and then one criminal comes along and does something so impressive that you can’t help but applaud his criminal prowess.

Expert Car Battery Thief Steals 3 Proton Car Batteries In 10 Minutes
One man in Malaysia has gone viral after he was caught on video stealing a car battery in just 25 seconds.
Reader: Do you mean a car?
Nope.
According to World of Buzz, the man stole three Proton Saga car batteries in 10 minutes!
The man was even caught on video for one of the car-battery thefts and soon went viral on social media.
Here’s the video, uploaded by Friends of PDRM.
The crime took place at a secluded carpark in Kampung Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur.

The video starts with a man on a bike parking in front of a white car at a parking lot. After parking in front of a silver car, he looks around suspiciously to see if there are any cameras or people around. He then looks up to the skies, too, presumably to check if God’s watching.
After he’s satisfied that the coast is clear, the man walks over to a Proton Saga at the corner of the carpark.
But he wasn’t going there to just admire the clean, white car, oh no.
The thief worked some Harry-Potteresque magic on the car with his hands and magically opened the bonnet.
After which, he removed the car’s battery, walk backed to his bike and sped off into the sunset.

According to Friends of PDRM, this video had only caught one battery theft on camera; the man had actually stolen 3 batteries in 10 minutes.Â
Thievery is always wrong, but I have to admit this feat is rather impressive.
(Goody Feed does not condone stealing car batteries, especially as skillfully and efficiently as this man)
Why Batteries?
If you’re wondering why this thief chose to steal car batteries, well, it’s because it fetches a decent price on the Malaysian market.
World of Buzz reports that car batteries can be sold second-hand at around RM20 (S$6.50) each. That may not sound like much, but considering he stole three in just ten minutes, he could make over an S$100 an hour if continued at that same rate.

By the way, don’t bother comparing the prices of Malaysia car’s batteries with Singapore car batteries. Remember, Singapore’s one the most expensive places to own a car, so even our car batteries are made of gold.
Lesson
As with many crimes, there are things we could do to prevent ourselves from such attacks.
1) Do not park your cars at secluded car parks
2) Install a car alarm system to prevent thieves from stealing your car or anything inside
These measures will only help with regular thieves, though. If you’re a victim of the man above with the magical hands, well then, no one can help you.
Buying a new battery might be affordable (a new one in Singapore is about $100) but getting a tow truck can burn a hole in your wallet.
These five GRCs could see the tightest battle in GE2025; here’s why:
