It’s a real-life event with, apparently, real-life consequences.

Here’s what happened.

Man Bangs On Car Bonnet After Cancelled Job

On 17 Oct 2020, popular Facebook / YouTube Page, SG Road Vigilante uploaded a strange video online.

It shows a man banging crazedly on the bonnet of a car while the car inches forward.

According to the caption of the post, the incident happened two months back on 11 Aug 2020 at Tampines North.

The ‘victim’ of the incident is a Grab deliveryman driving a Toyota Hiace and the incident happened after the deliveryman cancelled a job and was confronted by employees from the delivery company.

After the incident was shared widely online, netizens were condemning the man for pulling off such a crazy stunt.

Some encouraged the deliveryman to report the incident to the police, which he apparently did.

Others, however, felt that there might be more to the story.

And turns out, they’re right because the man in question has stepped forward with his side of the story.

A Stomper who claims to be from the delivery company said that the deliveryman had a delivery job which requires him to collect an item from them on behalf of a customer.

However, to collect the item, the Grab deliveryman has to provide a self-collection code in order for the courier service to located the package.

Unfortunately, for both sides, the Grab deliveryman couldn’t provide the code.

Anger After 15 Minutes Wait

The deliveryman allegedly lost his patience after 15 minutes of waiting.

When approached by the Stomper’s boss, the driver allegedly lambasted him with vulgarities.

The Stomper, who was away for lunch, was called back to the office. The police were also alerted to the incident.

Trying To Stop His Escape

When the Stomper was driving back onto the premises, he saw that the Grab deliveryman was making a getaway.

He had tried to block the man’s exit with his van, but when the driver attempted to drive around him, the Stomper alighted from his van and started banging on the bonnet of the car, hoping to stop him.

The police confirmed that they’ve received a report regarding the incident, according to STOMP, and investigations are ongoing.

By the way, in case you’re wondering, the last time someone jumped onto the hood of a car, a simple apology wasn’t enough to resolve the situation.
