On 20 March 2024, a family of three was hospitalized after allegedly eating food from the Hai Di Lao chain in Northshore Plaza in Punggol.
The authorities received a report that the family had fallen sick and was hospitalized after eating food from the outlet on 10 March 2024.
Two of the hospitalized family members are believed to be children.
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA), Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) said they are investigating the incident, in a joint reply to The Straits Times on 20 March 2024.
Moreover, The Straits Times has asked Hai Di Lao for a comment, but has yet to receive a reply.
Operations at the food outlet in Northshore Plaza are still ongoing.

Hai Di Lao, is a chain of hot pot restaurants founded in Jianyang, Sichuan, China in 1994.
The brand has opened up over 20 outlets in Singapore since 2012 and was awarded with the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA) in June 2019 after receiving critical acclaim from local media and audiences.
