Fan BingBing Did Charity Work But Netizens Feel It’s Too Fake

It’s one thing to do charity work.

It’s quite another to do it and be slammed by the netizens for it.

Yes, folks, incredible as it sounds, the notion of ‘doing charity work and getting berated in return’ isn’t just non-fictitious…

But a ‘shining’ exemplification of what this actress experienced in real life.

Charity Work @ Tibet

Just recently, famed Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing travelled to Tibet as part of Project Heart Ali, in which the organisation assisted in the payment for the medical treatment of children with congenital heart problems.

But things didn’t progress as smoothly as one would’ve thought: situated some 3,656 metres above sea level, the 37-year-old caved into altitude sickness, and had to be hooked up to an oxygen concentrator. And if you’re wondering how we found out about it…

It was because photos of Fan lying on a bed began circulating the Internet.

Now, while one would expect Netizens to sympathise with the actress’ condition, considering the shit she must’ve had to go through…

The fact remains that reality’s kind of a fickle being.

Dissent

According to Togglewhile some fans conveyed concern for the Chinese star’s health, others questioned two ‘shady’ aspects of the entire episode:

  • Why didn’t she return to Beijing?
  • Why did her friend upload the aforementioned photos in the first place?

The second point, in particular, was thrown under harsh scrutiny as many pointed out that it was unlikely that her friend would upload the photos without Bingbing’s permission, considering how she’s a public figure and all.

From there, Netizens asserted that Fan was actually trying to secure sympathy and support ahead of her showbiz comeback, and proceeded to criticise her.

Fan’s no. 1 fan, Mitsubishi: Wait, how could they do this to my poor Bingbing? What has she done to deserve all this hate?!

Well, that… might actually be attributed to the next point.

Tax evasion

After being found guilty of tax evasion last October, the actress’ image actually sustained a hard hit, and she has since avoided the limelight.

Instead of fading into the obscure completely and waiting for all the hoo-hah to die down, however, the actress chose to launch a personal beauty brand, called Fan Beauty, which turned out to be a relatively bad move considering all the poor reviews that promptly swamped it.

Though that’s kind of an unexpected notion, seeing how the actress has always been known for her fastidious skincare routine, as well as a reported usage of over 700 masks a year.

But hey; movie-goers don’t always turn out to be the best actors, do they?

So is it all an act… or just a misinterpretation?

Again, this is really down to one person:

Fan BingBing herself.

So speculate all we will…

We probably won’t get the answer until she truthfully reveals it herself.
