Father Of Toddler Sitting Dangerously Close To MRT Doors Said: ‘Not Your Problem’

Toddlers are known to be volatile. One moment they’re sitting peacefully, counting the tiles on the floor. In a split second, they could be dashing across the room.

One such potentially dangerous incident happened just recently in Singapore.

A small boy was seen dashing across the road without looking left or right. He subsequently got run over by a car. However, by some miracle, he came out of the accident unhurt.

But not without his very traumatised mother screaming her head off, of course.

As you can see, a split second is all it takes for an accident to occur, which is why it’s important to take precautions.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the father of this toddler got the memo:

Father Of Toddler Sitting Dangerously Close To MRT Doors Said: ‘Mind Your Own Business’

A netizen shared a picture of a toddler sitting dangerously close to the MRT doors on Complaint Singapore’s Facebook page on 18 October.

The toddler is sitting alone, unaccompanied by an adult. His comment states, “Going to have an accident soon. Please share. (The father tell me is not my problem!)”

Father Allegedly Told Him It’s “Not Your Problem”

These are all just assumptions and allegations made on the internet. For all we know, there could be an entire back story we aren’t aware of. We also haven’t heard the father’s side of the story.

However, according to the netizen who goes by the Facebook username of Ogawa Konamoto, he was allegedly told to mind his own business and that it wasn’t the netizen’s problem.

This came after he told the child’s father that it could be dangerous to leave his child so near to the MRT doors unaccompanied.

The post has since been shared 417 times and has garnered 506 likes thus far.

Netizens’ Reactions

Many netizens were quick to scold the child’s parents.

One netizen said, “many parents nowadays are like this. They tot it is fun for kids to be left like that. But when accidents do happen, they will start to blame other people and the authorities, but not themselves for their own negligence.”

The original poster, Ogawa Konamoto also went so far as to post a picture of the alleged father.

At the end of the day though, what matters most is the safety of the child. It’s also important to remember that we are only hearing one side of the story.
