What was the most you’ve ever paid for a screen protector?
To tell you the truth, I don’t remember how much mine was. However, considering how forgettable it was, I believe it wasn’t a large sum of money either. $20, $30 maybe?
Heck, even $30 sounds a little too expensive to me. However, I believe most of us are willing to fork out the cash—as replacing the screen of your phone is going to be one hell of a hassle and most likely going to cost more.
However, will you be willing to pay $145 for a screen protector?
Here, have a look at the post in question by Facebook user Denise Han:

This is what the post says:
“Must avoid ez advance trading enterprise at all costs!!!!! This shop cheated our helper and rip her $145 for a screen protector !!! Our helper thought it’s $10 Or $20 the most but the shop give invoice of $145 and pressurized our helper that everything is on cctv and she have to pay up!!!! And my helper was afraid and did what they say. Bloody disgusting shop!! $145 is Alot of money for domestic worker and they have to feed entire family back home!!! Shame on you #ezadvancetrading what can my helper do ???”
“My cousin just called them on 18th pm. and they r really crappy with their response!!”
They said
“ Rolex watch is watch. Patek Phillippe also watch. Quality matters. This is a good quality tempered glass 2. Our tempered glass comes with free replacement, there’s a 1 year warranty”
“$145 is a small sum”
“It’s her word against my staff’s. How can you prove???”
“Cannot be you come in to buy a screen protector and you see me put it on for you and then you say you don’t want to buy”
“Return my helper her hard earn money !!!!”
TL;DR: Domestic helper went to EZ advance trading enterprise in Lucky Plaza and was asked to pay $145 for a screen protector!
What is that screen protector made of? Diamonds?
Apparently, $145 for a screen protector makes sense to EZ advance trading enterprise as it comes with a one year warranty.
As much as I understand that we should always ask for the price before buying, $145 just doesn’t make sense. I don’t know about you guys, but sounds like the domestic helper has been “Jover Chew’d”.
As of writing time, according to Shin Min Daily News, EZ advance trading enterprise has agreed to refund the domestic helper the full sum in an attempt to appease everyone.
See lah, people expose you liao then you agree to refund lah.
Even if what they say about the quality is true, I don’t think I’ll ever set foot inside the store just for the way they handled the situation when they were first approached by Denise Han.
That’s just me though. Why don’t we take a look at what Netizens have to say:
Well, as expected. After doing something like this, I don’t think anyone will be on the shop’s side.
That being said, I’m glad the domestic helper managed to get her money back. Meanwhile, let’s see if we can do something about this store, shall we? Gotta exterminate all these unethical businesses in Singapore for everyone’s sake.
