When I see cannibalism, I think of zombies eating brains or tribes from the olden days that still eat the human flesh.
Never in my wildest dreams or horrifying nightmare would I think of a human being eating the brain of another until I came across this news.
Filipino Man Arrested For Eating A Woman’s Brain
According to Channel News Asia, a Filipino man, Lloyd Bagtong, had admitted to chopping a woman’s head off and eating her brain.

He was arrested on Thursday, 5 December in the Misamis Oriental province of Northern Mindanao in the Philippines for his gruesome act of murdering a woman.
Police Chief Captain Maribeth Ramoga told the local media that they are currently identifying the victim. The victim was beheaded and found only wearing jeans, with both of her hands tied up.
GMA News stated that witnesses saw Bagtong at the crime scene carrying a “sanggot”, a tool that is used to cut grass.
Prior to the horrendous murder, witnesses stated that Bagtong and his victim were seen together. He ran away when residents reported the body of a headless woman.
Why run away, unless you are guilty?
Hence, the local police decided to pursue Bagtong to find the victim. They eventually uncovered something. The victim’s corpse was found four kilometres from his house in Barangay Punta.
Woman’s Brain Eaten With Rice Like It’s Normal
Here is the scariest part: Bagtong admitted to the crime and told the investigators that he ate the victim’s brain.
As he was hungry and he doesn’t have the brains (pun not intended) to think of another way to satisfy his hunger, he decided to use the victim’s brain as a topping for his rice meal, after the murder.

Now, I’ve seen pretty weird toppings before, but nothing quite like this. I mean, brains as toppings?! You got to be kidding me.
He threw the skull in a hole near his home. On that account, the police found the victim’s head in a hole as well; wrapped in a bloodstained piece of cloth.
There is nothing scarier than playing hide and seek with a victim’s body parts.
Mental Health Condition
Sadly, residents reported that Bagtong seemed to suffer from a mental health condition. This might explain why he would do such a thing.
Furthermore, Police Chief Ramoga told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that Bagtong killed the victim because she was speaking in English and it irritated him.

This just further confirms that his mental condition is pretty unstable.
Bagtong is currently in police custody and will be punished according to the law.
