It seems like fires are no longer contained on the dance floors. These days, they are ignited on roads as well.
In this instance, a taxi mysteriously caught on fire on Upper Bukit Timah Road.
Taxi Mysteriously Caught on Fire at Upper Bukit Timah Road
Yesterday (31 July), a Taxi was seen ablaze along Jalan Anak Bukit, specifically, near Bukit Timah Plaza at around 5:40 pm.
The video of the SCDF officers putting out the flames was captured by a TikTok user who also thanked the officers in his captions.

Four SCDF officers that arrived in a ‘Red Rhino’ could be seen extinguishing the taxi as black smoke emitted from it. The taxi driver was nowhere to be seen.
According to MS News, the fire was extinguished with a hose reel and a water jet.
Luckily, no one was injured but no one knew the cause of the incident as well. Investigations are ongoing.
What To Do If Your Car Catches Fire
Two of the most common causes of fiery vehicles are:
- Fuel leaks
- Electric system failures
You are able to tell if the fuel is leaking when you smell a strong scent of petrol while driving, hear odd sounds or feel a shaking or bouncing sensation in your vehicle (also known as rough idling), or have a poor fuel economy.
If that happens, quickly move your car to a road shoulder (if you’re on an expressway) and get out of your car. If you see mushrooms of smoke coming out from any part of your car, leave the car immediately.
Call 995 and ensure bystanders do not go near to kaypo why are there random mushroom clouds popping out from an abandoned vehicle.
Other Fiery Incidents
Recently, there seemed to be lots of incidents that involved fire. Many of these incidents involved a car’s engine while a particular incident involved a man intentionally trying to set a building on fire.
Meanwhile, in a unique case in the Land of the Red Dragon, a man accidentally set three vehicles on fire while trying to kill a tiny pest, namely the cockroach.
It all started at his kitchen door where a seemingly harmless cockroach sat. This man must have been watching too many DIY flamethrower tutorials for he decided to kill the pest with a combination of a can of insecticide and fire. As expected, a flame was ignited.
The flame rose up to a metal pail that contained alcohol-based fuel. As to why is there alcohol-based fuel in a random pail, we’ll never know but what we did know is, the pail exploded.
The loud and flashy explosion set three cars that were parked on the roadside on fire and as seen in the video below, the damages were bad.
