Ladies and gentlemen, aunties and uncles: if you’ve been turned off by the A&W queue in Jewel but still want to relive your childhood, here’s a goody news:

The AMK outlet in A&W Hub is almost ready.

Singapore Atrium Sale, the Facebook Page that has more exclusive lifestyle tidbits than lousy platforms like Goody Feed, got the scoop on how it looks like and it seems like Ang Mo Kio is going to be the new Jewel Funan Mall.

Located at B1, earlier reports have stated that the outlet will be opened in July 2019, but unless I’ve mastered the art of time travel, my calendar clearly shows that it’s August now.

In other words, it should be open, but why not?

According to Singapore Atrium Sale, someone had overheard that the outlet is due to open in this Tuesday or Wednesday. I bet my boss’ car that it’ll definitely be open before Friday, because what better way to attract customers than with a long weekend?

The outlet much bigger than the one in Jewel, with a capacity of 142 seats compared to Jewel’s 80 seats. It will have a dedicated waffle island which will showcase the bestselling A&W Waffles and a selfie corner for ‘Instagram-worthy’ moments.

Parking at the mall is going to be a pain in the butt, and you might think of parking at the multi-storey HDB car park beside the mall.

Wrong decision.

Firstly, it’s just as packed and secondly, you need skills to navigate the tight car park there or you’re going to contribute to the numerous wall scars there.

And don’t even think of parking at the very limited open-air carpark illegally beside the HDB car park: parking wardens seem to be working 24 hours there.

Instead, park here:

It’s an open-air car park next to the library, and it’s usually not that packed. You’d need to walk about 10 minutes to the mall, but it’s better than making 3,000 turns in the mall and still can’t find a lot after an hour.

Here’s how the car park looks like:
