In case you’ve missed it, Geylang Serai Market & Food Centre was recently listed as a place that a Covid-19 patient has been to.
Sorry, let me be more exact here.
It’s a place where a Covid-19 patient, in his or her infectious period, has been to.
Now, before you scream and start cancelling your (necessary) grocery trip, MOH has said that people don’t have to avoid the place.
Because it’s going to be one of the cleaner places in Singapore after being placed on the list.
And lo and behold:
Geylang Serai Market & Food Centre Closed for ‘Spring Cleaning’ a Day After It’s Listed as a Place a COVID-19 Case Has Been
On 7 June, Geylang Serai Market announced their temporary closure.
According to our friends from Singapore Atrium Sale, the market was closed for spring-cleaning.
The market will close for three days until 11 Jun (Thursday) and it’ll resume normal operations on Friday, 12 Jun 2020.
Other Places Added To The List
Other than Geylang Serai, you’ll also see another familiar name: Mustafa Centre as well as Tampines Mall Basement 1.
Again, there’s no need to avoid these places as NEA will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.
However, people who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.
They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.
As always, while we’re now out of Circuit Breaker, we should all maintain safe distancing measures such as wearing masks and not meeting friends during Phase One.

After all, we all want to move into the next phase (Phase Two where we might be able to dine out) instead of going back into #CB, right?
