Singapore’s very own MParader is back again.

And for those who don’t know who that is, I’m talking about our former PM and Marine Parade MP, Goh Chok Tong.

Former PM Goh Chok Tong, 79, Receives First Shot of COVID Vaccine

According to his Facebook post uploaded on Monday, 22 Feb 2021, he has received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, together with fellow elderly from the Marine Parade GRC.

While concerned about the possible side effects, Mr Goh says he’s even more concerned about getting COVID-19, which is dangerous for people his age.

So after doing his research and consulting with his doctor, he proceeded to take the jab.

He even had time to chit chat with other seniors who had taken their jabs (they had to remain for a while for observation) afterwards.

He reported that everyone was happy with the experience.

Went to the Zoo Afterwards

Now, saying that you’re fine is one thing, but if you need to prove it? Just make your way to the zoo.

At least, that’s what ESM Goh Chok Tong did.

In a follow-up Facebook post the next day, Mr Goh said he went to visit the Singapore Zoo after taking the vaccination jab.

A tall man, he was happy to report that his hand is longer than a giraffe’s neck (with some creative photography involved).

He urges members of the public to take the chance to visit the zoo to take their minds off the stress of COVID-19.

Well, if current oppa PM Lee and former oppa Goh Chok Tong says so, the elderly in Singapore has nothing to worry about for the COVID-19 vaccination.

Progress of Singapore’s National Vaccination Drive

So far, it’s been almost two months since the first COVID-19 vaccine jab was administered.

Singapore’s leaders, including PM Lee and President Halimah Yacob, has been vaccinated.

The SAF has also started vaccinating its soldiers (NSFs and regulars), and the vaccination drive for the elderly (aged 70 and above) in three other community clubs kicked off successfully just two days ago.

While a 72-year-old elderly landed in the hospital after taking the vaccine due to a heart attack, investigations revealed that his condition was not linked to the vaccine.

The next group in line will be the seniors aged 60 to 69 years old, he added, who will receive their invitation in mid-March.

The vaccination jab is expected to be available to all segments of the population in Singapore “sometime after April”.
