Thai street food lovers, rejoice.
You might have not been able to enjoy the sumptuous delicacies during the pandemic, but now it’s coming to our shores.
Popular for Thai Pandan Pancakes
Located in the Thai supermarket at Golden Mile Complex is a newly-opened stall that goes by the name Baan Kanom Thai.
The stall might have only been open for two weeks, but it is already seeing long queues.
And it’s for none other than their authentic Thai snacks, more specifically their Thai Pandan Pancakes.
The pancakes aren’t just authentic to the Thai flavour, but they are absolutely affordable as well.
Priced at $4 for 10 pieces or $7.50 for 20 pieces, this means you pay as little as $0.38 for each!
If you aren’t a fan of pandan flavour, you can always try their pancakes that come in purple sweet potato flavour.
You might also find the shape of the pancakes familiar. Well, that’s because the pancakes are all shaped similar to a local favourite snack—Kuih Bahulu.
While they may look like Kuih Bahulu, don’t expect the familiar flavour. Instead, you are promised a sweet treat that tastes like madeleines!
Rolled-up Pancakes
Baan Kanom Thai also sells roll-up versions of pancakes that they call mini Tokyo pancakes. It comes in a variety of ingredients, custard, pandan, sweet potato and pork and sausage for those who want a savoury option.
Other items available on the menu include:
Mini Pancakes
Thai Coconut Pancakes
Thai Pandan Pudding
Thai Coconut Pudding

Started as a Home-based Business
Prior to opening the new stall on 8 March, the Thai pancakes had already been selling right from the owners’ home.
Fon and Jaren, the owners of Baan Kanom Thai, started the home-based business a couple of years ago selling Thai snacks and desserts online.
After gaining so much popularity, the couple decided to open a shop for walk-in customers.
According to their Facebook page and Instagram posts, their shop has been drawing long queues and sells out daily due to popular demand from fans and Thai snack lovers.
Heading There
If you are planning on making a trip there, you might have to wait till Thursday (24 Mar). Baan Kanom Thai is closed temporarily till then as the owners had to attend to urgent matters in Thailand.
Normally, the stall is open from 12pm to 8.30pm or until they are sold out from Tuesday to Sunday. They are closed on Mondays.
Their address: 5001 Beach Rd, #02- 64 (inside Thai Supermarket), Singapore 199588
