Pray tell me: what’s the most popular thing nowadays?
Reader Brock: Nas Daily!
No, you idiot.
It’s bubble tea. And before we continue, I’m under strict instructions to plug our pathetic YouTube channel show you this video we’ve made about bubble tea:
Done? You should know by now then that bubble tea isn’t healthy.
But there’s another popular thing in Singapore nowadays.
Fluffy pancakes. Or Fluffy soufflé.
Just so you know, soufflé is like pancake, but they’re much softer, much thicker and much airier.
So to a non-foodie like me, I’d just call soufflé pancakes instead.
And Gong Cha is going to combine the two together, because why not?
Gong Cha Fluffy Pancakes
In a surprise move this afternoon, Gong Cha posted this on their Facebook:
The image would have spoken a thousand words.
Lest you can’t read the text, here’s what’s written:
Calling all dessert fans! We’re serving up some fluffy soufflés for you guys at only Causeway Point outlet from 12 noon to 9pm , you can head over and fill up on this delicious treat!
In other words, it’s only available in the new outlet at Causeway Point.
If you live in the north, you’d know that there’s an outlet at Woodlands MRT Station. Do note that it’s not that outlet: it’s a new outlet on the second floor of Causeway Point, just opposite Swensen’s.
How do I know? Because I was there last week and got to try another of their new item: the Boba Soft Serve.
Anyways, back to the Boba Fluffy Pancake.
According to the comments, the pancake would cost $5.00 today (15 June 2019), but I guess by the time you’re reading this (especially if you come in via Facebook—please download our app and come in daily instead so that you won’t miss any time-sensitive articles), 15 June 2019 would be yesterday.
It’ll still be available on other days, but at a price of $5.80.
Now I guess you might be wondering: you can’t possibly be dabao-ing this home, right? And having it at Swensen’s seats while pretending that it’s a Banana Split isn’t workable.
Don’t worry: the new outlet has seats (about ten or so) so you can take your time Instagram-ing and having your fluffy pancake there.
The last time I was there, it wasn’t crowded, so hopefully it stays that way.
But if this article makes it crowded…then Gong Cha, you’ve got to pay us some commission, please.
