The world’s a cruel place, and don’t even preach all that ‘life’s a rainbow’ bullcrap because you know it ain’t true.
Famine.
Poverty.
Stuff like this.
How the hell is life a rainbow?
Indeed, one can’t help but bemoan the state of the world we currently live in; and wonder whether mankind’s evolution has shaped the world for the better…
Or the worse.
Cruel, but warm
But then again, occasionally, we get a moment of such heartwarming intensity, such emotion-stirring value, that we feel compelled to believe in humanity again.
And while these Grabfood Delivery Riders didn’t exactly make my heart flutter…
They damn well made me believe in humanity again.
On 15 April 2019, a post in the Facebook group GrabFood Delivery Rider Singapore showed a dozen or so GrabFood delivery personnel out and about assembling food packages.
The charity ride had taken place on 13 April 2019.
And no, they were not just doing their job of delivering food to hangry men and women.
In the pictures accompanying the post, the riders can be seen gathered at the void deck of a block of flats, repacking boxes of food (which included biscuits and packet drinks) for distribution.
Once the food was successfully sorted into individual plastic bags, the riders then went around the neighbourhood on their Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs), distributing food to the homeless.

And while we can’t see the reactions of those who received, I can only assume that they had smiles going on the whole time. For a man with food… is surely an appeased man.
Lest you’re wondering… this isn’t the first time
Apparently, food delivery personnel have been reported giving away food before, though on previous occasions it was not food of their own but the products of cancelled orders.
In order to prevent the food from going to waste, it was offered to those who looked like they needed it.
Faith in humanity… restored
Granted, the world’s a cruel place. But charitable acts like this, benevolent and positive in nature, never fail to make me smile in joy.
Ahh, it has been something I’ve been waiting for-
