The PMD ban on footpaths has led to some Grabfood delivery riders to express their sorrows on the internet.
For many of them, PMD=Rice bowl.
However, these two Grabfood delivery riders came up with a light-hearted skit which highlights the issue of the ban in a very low-key way.
The Video
Posted onto All Singapore Stuff’s Facebook page, and submitted by Jj, the video starts with the man behind the camera, the “customer” complaining that his order is late.
“Order at 4.30 haven’t reach.” The watch on his wrist shows 5.30pm.
Just when he was wondering where his Grabfood was…
The sound of an engine could be heard coming from along the corridor!
His food delivery is finally here. The man doing the delivery strolled in with a very fashionable car.
Car in an HDB corridor? Can fit meh?
Sorry, TOY car. Like those electric toy cars that you used to beg your parents for.
After the customer collected his food, he told the delivery-partner to “take care on the road” and to “have a good ride”.
The GrabFood rider then expertly reversed his way down the corridor (cuz corridor too small to do u-turn). He does that without bumping into anything.
Just look at that guy turning to check if there’s anything in his way- the mark of a good driver.

Video Highlights Issue That Customers Can Now Expect
But aside from being a light-hearted response to the ban, it also underlines some of the problems the PMD ban caused.
For instance, the video highlighted how consumers can now expect delivery times to be longer now that PMDs are banned from footpaths.
Grab has also issued a statement to reach out and seek understanding from customers that deliveries might be delayed. They might also experience an increase in cancellations by delivery-partners who may not be able to cover the distance on foot.
Netizens React To The Video
The video has gathered over 1.7k likes and 303 comments.
You can sense the saltiness over the ban in some of these comments.
They also had some uniquely Singaporean concerns about the car.
And this one spoke the truth.
There were also a number of people who commented on the man behind the camera who was smoking.
Considering that both the people in the video were wearing the GrabFood delivery uniform, they are also probably affected by the ban.
I think it’s quite nice to see that despite the stress that the ban has brought about, they are taking a breather and having fun and there’s no harm or wrong in doing that!
