With new malls sprouting all over Singapore, it is no wonder you’ve forgotten this cozy mall nestled in the Central area.
Lest you’re not aware, Great World City has been undergoing refurbishment since April this year, but the the mall remains open throughout this redevelopment.
It will be fully completed in 2020, but the first phase will be completed this month, and boy is it exciting.

Michelin-Star Ramen
Who isn’t a fan of chewy, delicious ramen in a flavorful broth? I know I certainly am.
Just feast your eyes on this bowl of delectable goodness. If this isn’t enough to convince you to lug your body over to Great World City, we can’t be friends. These bowls of wonders are delivered by none other than the renowned ramen restaurant, Hototogisu Ramen.
Since its opening in Japan in 2006, Hototogisu Ramen has been crowned the “No. 1 Ramen in Japan” in 2017 and 2018 and awarded one Michelin star in the Tokyo Michelin Guide 2019.
Meidi-Ya Japanese Supermarket
Want to stock up on Japanese snacks and beverages at home? You can count on Great World City as the one stop for all your needs from now on.
Meidi-Ya offers a diverse range of fresh food imported straight from Japan. If you like to try out something novel, why not get some original in-house products such as Meidi-Ya’s “My Jam” or “My Syrup”? Guaranteed to provide satisfaction to your taste buds.
They currently have one outlet in Liang Court (yah, the other Little Japan) and would be opening in Great World City as well.
HappiPlayground Characters
Tis the season to be jolly…celebrate this festive season with exciting activities at Great World City! From now till Christmas, experience the magic of Christmas with characters from popular Hong Kong cartoon HappiPlayground!
Get up close and personal with life-sized Panda, Bunni, Pucci, Tiger and Pinky! Spend a minimum of $50 and enjoy a series of interactive activities, such as decorative workshops for Christmas ornaments.
If you spend $150 or more, you get to be a part of a tea party with Happiplayground’s characters, complete with the mouthwatering HappiTea and Hong Kong egglets.
Okay, this isn’t Japan but…the characters are as cute as Japan characters, no?
Great World MRT station
Getting to Great World City can be rather tedious, given that there isn’t any MRT station near the mall currently. But hey, by 2021, we will be able to get to Great World City in a jiffy when the MRT station connected to the mall is ready to go.
