Early last year, we bid goodbye to the Filmgarde Cineplexes outlet at Bugis+ mall as it was announced that the company would be closing operations for two of its cinemas.
Since then, you would have to travel to the Golden Village (GV) outlets at Funan or Plaza Singapura if you want to catch a movie nearby.
But now, guess what’s in store for us?
Say Hello to the Newest GV Outlet at Bugis+
Located on the 5th level of the mall, GV Bugis+ has officially opened on 10 March 2023.
Talk about TGIF!
When you enter the new multiplex, you will be greeted with a brightly-lit sleek and modern atrium interior.
As you order your food and beverages from the snack bar, you will see a damn chio dome centrepiece when you look up towards the ceiling.
Atas, right?
What Does GV Bugis+ Offer
GV Bugis+ houses eight halls, each having comfortable plush seats. Also, according to GV, the state-of-the-art Barco cinema laser projection system delivers “consistent, sharp image quality over time and features better colour quality”.
That’s not all.
As part of GV’s promise to offer movie-goers a “More Than Just A Movie” experience, the cinema will also have two Gold Class Express halls. Both halls can seat 40 people each (compared to the 32-seater halls at Funan), and patrons can opt for single-seating as well.
The Gold Class Express halls also offer leatherette electronic recliner seats. Coupled with a leg rest that can be adjusted to 90 degrees and a USB charging port, movie-goers can order their food and drinks via the iGV mobile app from the comfort of their seats.
Situated on the second floor of the multiplex, there is also a new dining concept, AZUL (which means blue in Spanish), that offers an elaborate menu of Spanish and Mexican dishes like Patatas Bravas (Spanish spicy potatoes) and Chorizo Frito (Chorizo sausages).
GV Bugis+’s Opening Specials
From 10 to 16 March 2023, patrons who use DBS PayLah! to buy their tickets at GV Bugis+ will score tickets at $6 for movie screenings from Monday to Thursday and $9 for those from Friday to Sunday.
Tickets will be made available through PayLah!, the iGV app or the GV website. It will be limited to the first 250 tickets per day so first come first serve!
Also, mark your calendars for 16 March 2023, as GV Bugis+ will have a one-day special event to celebrate its new opening!
Many exclusive deals await, such as free goodie bags (worth $70) for the first 200 patrons who make a walk-in purchase of at least two movie tickets.
These goodies bags contain great steals like Shazam!-related premiums, movie premiums and more.
The first 200 GV Movie Club® members will also get to customise room sprays when they make a walk-in purchase of at least four movie tickets.
On that day, stay tuned for a giveaway by 987FM Radio DJs and look out for the cosplayers of Demon Slayer, a highly popular Japanese animation movie, who will be there to join in the fun as well.
Other activities include a K-POP Random Play Dance that will be open to the public, and you can take a free photo at the photo booth as well to capture this special day.
