Celebrity Hayley Woo Confirms That She’s Dating Actor Richie Koh

Well singles, if there’s any better month to watch lovey-dovey couples rub their relationship status in our faces, it’s February, and celebrity couples are no exception too.

On the romantic season of Valentines’ Day, yet another celebrity couple made their love public to the masses.

Local actress Hayley Woo, while talking to Lianhe Zaobao on 13 February, has confessed that she and local actor Richie Koh have been dating, but she “does not recall” how long exactly they have been a couple. 

A Romance Already Hinted Since 2022

Actor Koh had already sparked intrigue and curiosity when, in his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the 2023 Star Awards, he thanked a certain “beloved”.

Since then, he has admitted to being in a relationship during a radio interview, but when asked if his significant other was from the entertainment circle, declined to disclose any further.

Meanwhile, Woo had also revealed to the media that she was seeing someone, when her twin sister announced her engagement in 2022. 

Since then, the couple kept their relationship status on the down-low, limiting their public interactions to just exchanging likes and comments on each other’s social media posts.

A year later, Woo and Koh finally openly admitted to being in a relationship together.

While initially hesitant and evasive, Woo told Lianhe Zaobao that they did not intend to make their love known to the public initially as she was afraid that it would affect Koh.

In the same interview, Woo revealed that Koh is a “very romantic boyfriend” who would often buy her flowers and meals.

Woo also said that they would not hide the news if they were to get married. 

Efforts by other media bodies have been made to reach Koh for his comments but remain unsuccessful as of the morning of 16 February.

Meet the Lovely Couple

31-year-old Hayley Woo is the identical twin sister of fellow local actress Jayley Woo, who is already married to a non-celebrity with a daughter. 

Woo is best known for her acting roles in local films like The Girl in Pinafore and Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen. She has also starred in local drama series Life Less Ordinary, Doppelganger and more!

On the other hand, 30-year-old Richie Koh is also a well-established local actor and celebrity in his right, most recently starring Mediacorp works Cash on Delivery, Till the End and Your World in Mine, the last of which won him his Best Actor Award with his impactful portrayal of an intellectually disabled man.

Koh also made a cameo in 2017’s Life Less Ordinary, the same work that starred his current girlfriend.

They Are Not the Only Celebrity Couple Celebrating

Over Valentines’ Day, multiple established and well-beloved local celebrity couples took to social media to celebrate their love.

Fellow local actress Tay Ying, who had also recently made her relationship with celebrity chef Wu Sihan, commemorated their Valentines day with a romantic couples shoot on Instagram despite being unable to celebrate the day themselves as Sihan was “busy preparing the restaurant for other couples out there”. 

Fan-favourite celebrity couple Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu commemorated their 10th anniversary with an adorable Instagram post alongside the caption, “At this stage of our lives, spending time alone, whether watching the beautiful scenery in silence, deep in conversation, or just being silly, is the best way to connect and feel loved.”

Veteran actress Zoe Tay also dedicated an Instagram post to her husband of 23 years, showcasing their trip to a ski resort and the couple’s endearing attempts at trendy Gen Z poses.

She writes, “As long as you’re by my side, nothing else is important.”
