When you’re undergoing tough times, the best way to endure is to have your loved ones right beside you.

Unfortunately, not all of us have the luxury to do so, including one 69-year-old Lim Poh Heng.

69YO Man Lost His Ability to Speak Due to Head Injury

Back in July 2021, Lim was out with his friend when he fell and knocked his head against a rock.

His companion immediately called for an ambulance and sent him to the hospital immediately.

Lim had to undergo surgery and in the aftermath, half of his skull was sunken in.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, Lim had lost the ability to speak coherently after the accident.

Currently, he is residing at a nursing home.

Looking For His Daughter

Lim’s 78-year-old neighbour, who has known him for seven to eight years, visited him from time to time.

Every time she visited, Lim would sketch words on the blanket.

Initially, she did not understand but came to realise that he was writing the Chinese word for female, 女.

She remembered that he has a daughter whom he doted on, and guessed that he might have wanted to meet her.

Reached Out For Help Locating The Daughter

The neighbour remembered Lim’s daughter visiting him once in the past.

She wanted him to return home for a reunion dinner; unfortunately, then, Lim did not agree and the daughter was never seen again.

However, the neighbour noted, the daughter was a filial child and would send him living expenses every month.

As for why she isn’t visiting Lim during this tough period, it could be due to the fact that his family might not know about what happened to him yet.

This is also why the neighbour is reaching out to Lianhe Wanbao to help search for Lim’s daughter.

Trying Other Ways To Search For Her

Lim’s neighbour, being an enterprising and kind individual, isn’t just depending on the media to find his daughter.

She remembered that Lim used to run a coffee shop in the past, and went to the old address to search for clues.

She had gone around to all the coffee shops in Yishun in an effort to locate his daughter.

The neighbour had also tried looking for clues at Lim’s old residential address, which was reportedly Blk 151 Yishun St 11, but to no avail.
