Have plans to head to Johor today or tomorrow?
Here’s a tip: Don’t.
No, really.
On a normal day, driving into Johor can already be a pain – but when you add “intermittent slowness of the immigration clearance system” into the equation…
Be prepared for traffic jams.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) posted on Facebook at 7.45am that there is “heavy arrival and departure traffic at Tuas checkpoint” and that “delays are expected.”
Here’s a look at the current situation at the checkpoint:
Traffic At 10.15am, 29 August:
Traffic jams can be seen at TUAS and towards Johor Bahru.
If you really must make a trip to Johor to buy diapers or eat dim sum, don’t forget to check the One Motoring website to get the latest update on traffic.
Netizens Left Helpful Comments
While some Netizens took to Facebook to leave helpful comments about the situation.
One Netizen suggested that ICA should try to reboot their system to solve the issue.
While another netizen suggested that ICA build a toilet in the middle of the bridge, lamenting that he had eaten Nasi Lemak for breakfast and needs the toilet.
A moment of silence for this guy – who knows when he’ll finally be able to sit on the ‘throne’.
Previous Warning By ICA Was For National Day Weekend
ICA had previously warned Singaporeans about traffic jams during the long weekend from 8 to 12 August due to National Day and Hari Raya Haji.
The result? Hours upon hours of traffic jams, so if that’s anything to go by, here’s some final advice:
Don’t go to Johor by car today. Just take the train lah.
