Riddle me this: if you got into a fight while queuing at Woodlands Checkpoint, what’s your makeshift weapon of choice? (assuming you’re not bringing weapons around…)
Two men who got into a brawl outside Woodlands Checkpoint decided to use motorcycle helmets as their weapon of choice. Suffice it to say this is one fight you do not want to be in.
2 Men at Woodlands Checkpoint Hitting Each Other With Motorcycle Helmets
On Saturday (29 April), a video surfaced on the Facebook group “Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers 马新过境者” of a violent brawl in the middle of the sea of motorcycles outside Woodlands Checkpoint.
The video was soundtracked by a relatively upbeat song that does not match the footage. We’re just surprised it wasn’t soundtracked with “bonk” sounds for every strike made and punch landed.
In the video, a man donning a purple t-shirt, with hair so flowy it would probably qualify him to be part of a shampoo commercial, was brawling with a man donning a blue windbreaker.
Maybe they were fighting over who deserved to be in a shampoo commercial (there’s a clear winner in our eyes, though).
The ten-second clip wastes no time diving straight into the violence of it all. It opens with the man in blue swinging a red helmet straight into his challenger’s head.
He must have put his whole life into that swing—he put so much force into it that the helmet rebounded off the other man’s head. It looks painful.
While the man in purple was down on the ground after being hit by the helmet, the man in blue took the chance to take another swing at his challenger.
Chill lah guys… It’s pretty clear that Singapore has the better food (just kidding).

Afterwards, the man in blue ran out of the frame. Noticing that the man in blue had bolted into the sea of motorcycles, the man in purple grabbed his black motorcycle helmet and ran after him.
The two started taking swings at each other again, catching the attention of many motorcycle riders queuing at the checkpoint. The man in purple also tried to pull his foe’s jacket over his head.
Just a suggestion but… maybe one of them should have kept their helmet on?
Man Makes “Wrong Turn” Into Woodlands Checkpoint
Woodlands checkpoint seems to be the new centre of several bizarre incidents this month. Aside from this helmet brawl, an SBS bus was reported to have blindly followed another bus into Woodlands Checkpoint two weeks ago.
That’s not even the half of it. A month ago, a 49-year-old made a “wrong turn” into Woodlands Checkpoint. Making a wrong turn isn’t anything out of the blue, but it will be if you carry weapons and controlled substances.
It turns out that the 49-year-old was found with three vapes, a cabled knife and $52,000 worth of controlled drugs, amongst other contraband items.
Imagine your whole plan foiled just because of a wrong turn.
With any hope, we won’t be hearing more strange stories from Woodlands Checkpoint anymore.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
