Now that everyone’s been to UWS with the current closing down promotion going on, there have been lots of unconstructive feedbacks by visitors. These hilarious feedback told to us by an unfortunate individual who is working in the attraction this period will either make you SYH (shake your head) or just laugh yourself silly.
Read on to find out how funny some people can get.
“Got any more discounts or not?”
We get it, Singaporeans are all about saving money. Or is it? Nonetheless, the tickets priced at $9 are a huge discount from its usual $29.90 entrance fee. But some people simply cannot appreciate this fact. “Are there any further discounts for students? Holiday discount? Pioneer generation discount?”
“Wa the queue so long, management is super bad.”
As many Singaporeans would already have known, they are closing down and people are visiting to take a last look before this place is gone for good. You would want to think and expect large crowds – but no, these people thought that UWS would be empty.
“It’s so hot, got different shorter queues for locals and foreigners or not?”
It’s always been hot, maybe some just realised it. And no, everyone’s pretty much the same here – it’s called visitors. Many ex-staff of UWS are also trying to make one last trip there to see the marine animals. So no point trying to bring your passport there to prove you’re Singaporean or not. Just imagine yourself overseas queuing for something that states “locals first.” You’ll never get in.
Cutting queues and bribing people in front to help buy tickets
Because the queue is sooooo long and many have resorted to these. But then again, everyone wants to get in quickly. Who’s going to obey the rules then? The point is if you wish to go reminisce your childhood attraction, be prepared to wait in line for a while.
With the discounted tickets, the closing down announcement and the June holidays, this place is bound to be packed like sardines, tuna or whatever. So if you have problems queuing in the outdoors under the Sun, you can get someone fit to go along with you and take turns joining the queue.
A sudden surge of animal lovers
There are tons of comments online regarding the dolphins from UWS getting sent to China’s ocean kingdom. Some wanted these dolphins to be released back into the wild; with others commenting on how poorly the dolphins will be treated.
These dolphins are born and bred in captivity, so they’ll just die if they are released into the sea. Our dolphins are only receiving this much “love” from people when they’re gone.
Many commenting that they lost these marine animals as educational tools for the younger kids
With the dolphins and seals gone, there are many commenting that they have lost great educational tools for the younger kids.
But what did they learn from dolphin shows in the first place? Yes, maybe they understood that these marine creatures are friendly and nice, but watching entertaining shows do not teach you anything. You’ll have to go Google or read actual books to learn about them.
