Ohh, he looks familiar!

If you happen to be born in the 90s and watch TVB dramas growing up, you’ll recognise Wong He, a well-known Hong Kong actor, especially in the TVB series, Burning Flames.

After 2011 where he was cut out from TVB and 2016 where he was erased from CCTV’s adaption of a Korean Variety show, Infinite Challenge, nothing much was heard about Wong.

Until now, that is.

On 11 Oct 2019, Wong He appeared on social media again.

No, he’s not doing another TV or movie shoot.

This is Wong He, in real life, directing traffic because he can help.

Came Across An Intersection Packed With Vehicles

Wong told reporters that he was at an intersection when he noticed that the traffic lights were not working.

There was a young man attempting to direct the traffic but seemed like he didn’t have the proper training.

And that was when Wong decided to step in.

He helped to direct the traffic at the intersection for 20 minutes before the police arrived and took over.

Putting His Police Training To Good Use

So the question is: is Wong He qualified to direct traffic?

Did he learn it during his heroic roles on TV?

Apparently, not.

Before Wong joined TVB back in the 1990s, he served as an airport officer and a Police Tactical Unit member.

As Heroic As His Roles On TV

Wong isn’t just heroic on-screen, he’s pretty much the same off-screen too.

Back in 1989, when Wong was still an officer, he ran into a burning building to save two colleagues.

In 2010, the Hong Kong police ranked his actions as one of the top ten heroic acts in the force.

And on the internet too.

The Hong Kong police force probably isn’t too happy with him right now.

In response to the recent Hong Kong protests and the Hong Kong’s police brutality, he made a mockumentary and shared it on his Facebook page about a month ago.

At the time of writing, the video has 1.3 million views and about 26k shares.

He might be out of TVB but damn, he’s still making waves.
