S’pore Family in Japan Fatal Car Accident Was On a Frozen Downhill Road
The Hokkaido police have said that due to the snowy roads, there had been a few accidents in the area.
However, it turns out that it wasn’t snow that contributed to the accident.
The family had rented the Subaru car from a local car rental company, and the father was the driver.
They had collided with a truck that a 54-year-old local man drove. The man is not injured.
According to Zaobao, a local said that the family was likely to be heading to Furano from Asahikawa.
The truck driver has cleared the snow on the road, and therefore, the road wasn’t snowy.
However, due to the low temperature, ice has gathered on the road.
The road was also a downhill road, and much of the road has also frozen, making it slippery.
The accident site also has signs to inform cars to give way.
