If the name ‘House of Seafood’ rings a bell, that is because this isn’t the first time they have entered the media’s limelight. In fact, the restaurant by the Punggol coast has come under fire for multiple controversies previously.
Remember the restaurant that had a live crab claw machine? Or the restaurant that brought its crabs out for a breezy walk? Yep, both were House of Seafood.
Well, this time, the restaurant is finally not causing a stir online, but rather displaying some of their CEO Francis Ng’s generosity.
Scooping Cash Game for Staff
House of Seafood’s staff will get to scoop dollar notes with a wok spatula while being blindfolded. The dollar notes that are successfully scooped into a big metal bowl will be given to the staff.
On the table was filled with $2, $10, $50, $100 notes, the total amount equating to a whopping $33,888.
Can our boss host a game like that for us too ah?
The game was supposedly a unique creation of House of Seafood’s CEO, Francis Ng who wanted staff to earn extra angbao money. Hold up. Tiktokers will know that this game was viral on the platform at the end of last year and not created by this guy. Francis, at least credit the original idea lah.
Regardless, we have to applaud Ng as the thought behind the game was a rather altruistic one.

Dedicated to Staff Who Stuck with Restaurant in COVID-19
House of Seafood said that it is always thinking of giving back to society, such as donating food to old folks home and spending time with them together in collaboration with celebrities.
For a change of events, they decided to give back to those closest to them. Their staff.
Wah, time to pack up here and start working at House of Seafood.
The restaurant wanted to show appreciation to their staff who stuck with them during the tough COVID-19 times which saw a drop in business.
Through the game, the restaurant hoped to bring some joy to their staff and boost morale for all of them during the busy Chinese New Year period.
Quiz for Customers to Win Rewards
So maybe we can’t join their team of staff, but House of Seafood didn’t forget their customers either.
If you follow House of Seafood’s Facebook, you might have seen the following post:
The restaurant asked followers to guess the activity in the picture and the total amount of money on the table. Five winners would then be invited to the restaurant to win some money as well.
House of Seafood said this quiz was a small way to give back to the restaurant’s loyal customers for their unwavering support.
Even though 6 Feb has passed and you can’t get the free crab anymore, you might want to stay tuned to House of Seafood’s latest promotions on their Facebook page.
For all of their hoo-has in the past, we cannot deny Francis Ng really does take care of the welfare of his staff.
