After more than two years since his divorce with Hong Kong actress Angelababy, Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming has confirmed his relationship status with internet celebrity Ye Ke, putting an end to all the speculation about his love life.
Sorry ladies, he’s off the shelf now.
The Announcement
On 19 September, Huang made a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo asking everyone to not speculate any further.
The 46-year-old wrote: “Sorry to take up public resources. Everyone, stop guessing; we are together.”
Ye was not tagged in the original post, but Huang did so after people commented on the post asking exactly who he was referring to.
The 32-year-old influencer also shared the post shortly after with a red heart emoji, which gathered more than 11,000 comments.
Rumours and Gossip
Prior to this, Huang had ended his marriage of more than six years with popular actress Angelababy in 2022. Throughout the course of their marriage, many had been speculating whether things were actually alright between the two as netizens had noticed they rarely interacted with each other on social media.
Some netizens also pointed out that Angelababy had replaced her eye-catching wedding band with a smaller ring, and that her wedding ring was missing during her appearances at public events.
The couple subsequently decided to split amicably in January 2022, sharing custody of their son, also known as “Little Sponge”, who had just turned five earlier that month.
Speculations of New relationship and Possible Marriage
Shortly after being seen with Angelababy and Little Sponge at Shanghai Disneyland in May this year, Huang and Ye were spotted together regularly, sparking rumours of the two being together, which they never confirmed or denied.
It was when Huang uploaded a photo of him celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with his family on Weibo on 17 September that had netizens asking if Ye was the one who had helped take the photo. This led to some netizens being upset, leaving nasty comments as well as saying how he should just give Angelababy full custody of Little Sponge.
Ye had also made a post on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, which included a photo of a huge diamond ring (and I mean huge), sparking rumours that she had met Huang’s family and a possible marriage was on its way. Likewise, Ye’s post was not spared from the comments from netizens, many of which were sarcastic and included photos of Angelababy.
Sometimes it’s better to not be famous.
