Huawei just launched its new phone, the P40 Pro+.
It features a ‘flowing water’ design that looks good and feels good when you hold it in your hands.
But the deal clincher in this phone isn’t about how ergonomic the design is, or how fast the phone can go; it’s all about the camera.
Huawei New Phone Can Zoom So Far, It’s Almost Scary
This is Huawei’s rear camera system.
It has a 40 MP Ultra Wide Cine Camera that gives you great slow-mo and cinematic videos
A 50 MP ultra vision camera which gives you photos with “super clarity”
And an array that gives you up to 100x zoom.
Yes, people, a hundred times zoom.
So if your dream has always been to take a picture in the forest and spot some red ants, or take a snap of the building opposite the road and see a girl eating siew mai in her room, this is the phone for you.
100x Zoom
Here’s an image at 1x zoom:
Here’s the same image at 50x zoom:
And 100x zoom:
Now imagine a 100x zoom into a neighbour’s home in the opposite block.
Binoculars? Nah, all you need is a smartphone.

Camera Stabilisation, Night Shots On Point
Now, for those of you out there who aren’t into smartphone photography just to see who can zoom in the most, Huawei P40 Pro Plus’s other camera functions aren’t to be taken lightly either.

It can also remove photobombers and reflections from your images without you having to know how to operate photoshop.

The P40 Pro+ (White ceramic colour) will cost S$1,898 and is available for pre-order from pretty much everywhere:
- M1
- Singtel
- Starhub
- Huawei Concept stores and official online stores (Lazada and Shopee)

Sales of the phone will officially launch on 27 Jun 2020.
