If you’re already on your way to IKEA after reading the headline because you see the words “bistro” and “food”, I’d suggest that you cancel your Grab ride immediately.

Bistro might sound like the IKEA restaurant, but it isn’t. It’s the “kiosk” at the entrance / exit of the store that sells coins drinks, ice-cream, frozen yoga, hotdogs and curry puffs.

But how about the Swedish Food Market? Surely that’s the restaurant, right?

Well, no, though they do sell meatballs.

That is the “minimart” beside the bistro that sells frozen meatballs, snacks and everything Swedish.

In other words, if you’re looking to stuff yourself with a hundred meatballs this weekend, you’d still have to wait for a while

Thankfully, hotdogs and curry puffs are still available.

As for the Food Market, it’ll reopen today with certain restrictions, too:

  • Bakery and Candy Pick & Mix at IKEA Tampines will have co-worker assistance for picking and packing.
  • Candy Pick & Mix at IKEA Alexandra will be pre-packed to 100 grams, ready for purchase.

Other than that, everything remains the same, which means frozen meatballs are still available.

IKEA has told Goody Feed that the restaurant should be open within two weeks from the first day of Phase Two, which means it shouldn’t be long before we can waste our time queuing up for hours for ten minutes of meatballs.

But still…
