Rules: simple to understand for some, as complex as quantum physics for others.Â
If you go into a bar and a staff member tells you they can’t legally serve you alcohol, what do you do?
- Accept it, go home, and scour your fridge for some old beers.
- Look up to the heavens and lament about how hard your life is, before returning home to look through the fridge for old beers.
- Start a physical altercation with the bar’s staff members and get arrested.
No rational person would pick option 3, right?
Well, you’re right; no rational person would do such a thing.
29YO Man Turned Physical After Influencer Bar Owner Told Him He Cannot Drink After 10:30pm
A 29-year-old man was arrested after he started a brawl in a bar on 24 March.
Incidentally, the Tanjong Pagar bar, Chug Chug, is owned by Xinde Yap, a 25-year-old influencer who was one of Dee Kosh’s talents.

According to an Instagram post by Yap, the incident began with a man walking into his bar while it was closing up and asked for a drink.
As you know, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, F&B establishments are not allowed to sell alcohol after 10:30pm.
The staff explained this to the man, but this only angered him.
“No, I don’t want to leave, people are still drinking and talking after 10.30pm”, the man allegedly said.
Yap pointed out to the man that they were drinking water, and that there were no laws against drinking water after 10.30pm.
Instead of listening, the man proceeded to pick up glasses on several tables one by one to show that they weren’t empty.
But, once again, Yap showed the man that they were all filled with water.Â
The bar owner then threatened to call the police, and the man goaded him into doing it.
The confrontation then turned physical after Yap stopped the man from touching their glasses.
A video of the brawl was later uploaded online.
The men pushed each other and Yap ended up on the floor at one point, which prompted his co-workers to intervene.
Someone who looked like a customer then entered the bar to help the two men out, but even with three men holding him down, the rowdy man was impossible to restrain.
Arrested For Public Nuisance & Criminal Force
As a result, Chug Chug’s staff and regular customers alerted the police, and officers soon arrived on the scene and arrested the man.
The police later confirmed with Mothership that the man was arrested for public nuisance and criminal force. Investigations are ongoing.
Yap later uploaded more details on the incident in a post on Instagram.
So the morale of the story is that if you can’t drink outside, go home and find some old beers rather than fight the bar owner.
