If you’re like me and like to eat in my own room, you’ve definitely had the experience of finding swarms of ants crawling all over the shop to pick up on all of your tasty morsels.
If you’re up for it, try this method and get rid of them once and for all.
Step 1: Get some Detergent, Jam and Plastic Bottle Caps.
You’re going to need detergent or any kind of cleaning powder that contains Borax, which is also called sodium borate, sodium tetraborate or disodium tetraborate; look out for it on the box.
Step 2: Mix the Detergent and Jam.
Mix the two together to form the potent poison that you are going to feed all those pesky ants with. The ratio is around 20 parts of jam to 1 part of detergent.
Step 3: Fill the Caps with Poison.
Spoon your deadly mixture into the plastic bottle caps so that it can easily be placed at the spots where you’ve seen ants swarming out of, which usually are in corners or along the tables and walls.
Step 4: Wait.
You should start seeing some dead ants around the caps, which is fine. However, if you start seeing a whole lot of them, you might have put too much detergent; remember that you want the ants to get back to their nest and pass the poison on.
Step 5: Observe and Clean up.
After around a week, the ants should either have all been killed at the source, or would have moved on somewhere else after realising your room is not to be messed with.
Before you go nuts and place your poison-filled caps all over the shop because you live in some kind of pig sty, make sure small kids and your pets don’t go near them, or you’ll have more than dead ants on your hands.
