The iPhone XI and XI Max (or whatever the heck it’s called) might be unveiled only in the second half of 2019, but it seems that for iPhone fans, Christmas might’ve come a little early.

Why, you wonder. Well, if you’ve been kept awake by stringent, consistent thoughts of how the new phones will look like, here’s a little early Christmas present for you:

There have been leaked images of the iPhone XI and XI Max mouldsand they might or might not be what you were looking forward to.

LEAKS

Usually, leaks could be taken to mean two things:

  • Someone’s ‘homemade video’ just got stolen
  • Some company’s ‘homemade product’ just got stolen

Thankfully, however, the leak this time around belongs to the latter, and as it turns out…

It’s quite a ‘masterstroke’…

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, presenting to you…

The leaks of the all-new iPhone XI and XI Max moulds.

For your info, moulds are needed to, you know, create the shape of the phones for mass production. A mould is made before production can begin.

And lest you’re wondering, the leak was shared by Twitter channel @Slashleaks.

Though it actually originated from a Weibo account.

But then again, iPhone’s made in China mah.

No guarantee on the accuracy of the design

According to BGR News, the designs are allegedly assembled by case manufacturers “based on leaked information from Apple’s vast supply chain”.

And while there’s no guarantee on the accuracy of the design, BGR News did mention that case manufacturers “will often take extreme measures in order to ascertain accurate information”.

Apple analyst Kuo Ming-Chi, on the other hand, has predicted via MacRumors that the triple-lens rear cameras will increase a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel super-wide-angle lens by Sony.

It’s also mentioned that the new phones will come with a 5.8-inch (14.7 cm) and 6.5-inch (16.5cm) OLED displays respectively.

The notch, however, will seemingly still be in place, despite other phones in the market fervently trying to eliminate or at least reduce the size of it. This, however, definitely didn’t seem to sit well with Netizens.

So… are they fake?

While some Netizens have dismissed the supposed ‘leaks’ altogether…

It has to be mentioned that these leaked photos confirm earlier rumours in January when an early render of the new iPhone model revealed a triple rear camera contained in a square unit that has a bezel all around.

And although the camera bezels will be more prominent this time around, Kuo states in his report that the rear super-wide-angle lens and front camera lens will utilise “black lens-coating technologies”, which will make the lenses look “inconspicuous”.

Hmm… that’s interesting alright.

And so, with that in mind, these leaked photos might just serve as a correct interpretation of the actual models, which will reportedly be unveiled in the second half of 2019.

But then again, like everything leaked…

I would just advise you to take it with a grain of salt, so as to avoid disappointment.

Though of course, if you’re unsatisfied with the leaks… it would be best to hope that the leaks aren’t actually correct. 😉

And also, Apple…where’s the foldable phone?!
