Before YouTube became dominated by fast-paced, attention-grabbing videos, it was a place where many showcased their singing talents.
In fact, that’s where Justin Bieber was first discovered.
If you remember that era, you’re likely familiar with Jayesslee, a musical duo made up of Korean-Australian twin sisters, Janice and Sonia Lee.
The Lee twins launched their YouTube channel in 2008, gaining popularity for their heartfelt cover songs. Some of their most well-known covers include Maroon 5’s “Payphone”, Jessie J’s “Price Tag”, and Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”.
If you’ve been hoping to catch them live again, here’s some good news: you can, and for free this weekend.
Jayesslee to Perform Live in Singapore for Free This Saturday
On Saturday, 5 October, Jayesslee will be performing a free set at Suntec Plaza as part of this year’s District M Festival, which is being held in collaboration with Singapore Design Week.
The festival runs from 4 to 5 October and features a variety of performers, with shows also taking place at Marina Square, Millennia Walk, and the Fountain Stage at South Beach.
Apart from live music, District M Festival will also offer interactive workshops, creative crafts, and plenty of delicious food and drinks.
And the best part? It’s all free.
So now you know where to be this weekend. If you’re interested in more details, you can find additional information here.
