In Sky Garden, a romance drama set in Taiwan, Xiaoming Si has been together with Shan Zhu for six years. For some reason, they broke up in 2006, and according to rumours, they were still on an on-off relationship.
Xiaoming Si then dated Seanna, but broke off after two years.
Then in a twist that no one’s expected, Xiaoming Si told Seanna that he has never forgotten Shan Zhu: to him, she is the only woman in his heart.
Kind of like these scenes:
Touching? Crying already?
If so, you’d be even sadder to know that Sky Garden is based on a real story between Jerry Yan and Lin Chi-Ling.
Jerry Yan’s Love Story That Ends Badly
Lest you’ve not been coming to our app daily, you might have missed an article about Lin Chi-Ling: our imaginary girlfriend in the 90s, Lin Chi-ling, has suddenly announced her marriage online, breaking many of our fragile hearts.
But nothing comes close to Jerry Yan’s pain.
According to The Straits Times, Jerry Yan, who was in Singapore two months ago for Star Awards 2019, had only said this to the media when he was filming in Beijing: “I truly wish her happiness.”
It seems like that was merely a politically correct answer.
Here’s the thing: one day before Lin Chi-Ling’s announcement, Jerry Yan’s ex-girlfriend of two years, Seanna Chang, had revealed that Lin Chi-Ling was the only woman in Jerry’s heart. She didn’t explicitly say whether that was the reason why they’ve broken up, though.
And Seanna had encouraged Jerry Yan to continue pursuing Lin.
Also, rumours of them in a KL hotel together in 2017 had made fans wonder if they would finally be together.
Jerry had allegedly wanted to rekindle their relationship with a note but could not find the courage to do so.
In the note, he apparently stated, “I was not good enough, not mature enough… since we broke up, I haven’t stopped crying in front of my friends.”
Wah, Jerry, here’s a song dedicated to you.
Wait, something isn’t right.
Isn’t that your own song?
