At this point, we’re no stranger to virtual concerts.
Separated from our favourite celebrities by only a screen (rather than a sea of adoring fans), virtual concerts have allowed us to transcend physical boundaries to get up close and personal with our beloved stars while still adhering to safe distancing regulations in these unprecedented times.
Not to mention it’s probably the first time we’ve attended concerts in pyjamas rather than being decked out from head to toe in merchandise.
However, even with all the safeguards of a virtual concert, one singer has had to postpone his virtual concert in light of the worsening COVID-19 situation.
Here’s all that you need to know.
JJ Lin’s Virtual Concert, Which Was Planned for 6 Jun, Has Been Postponed Due to COVID-19
Mandopop singer JJ Lin’s virtual concert, titled Sanctuary Finale, was originally set for 6 June.
The Sanctuary Finale is a spin-off virtual concert from the Sanctuary world tour which took place in March 2018.
Lin’s world tour spanned 43 countries in 66 shows. However, it was stopped in its tracks by the pandemic.
On 18 May, event organiser Isotope Productions took to Instagram to announce that the virtual concert has been postponed and due to the need to “prioritise the safety of the production team and to comply with safety distancing regulations in view of the escalating pandemic situation”.
A new concert date was promised to be released at a later time.
JJ Lin also posted the official announcement from Isotope Productions onto his own Instagram account, along with the caption: “Let’s brace through this tough period together! Thanks for your understanding!”

His loyal fanbase expressed comments of encouragement and promised to wait for his concert. Fans who had previously purchased e-tickets will be able to use them for the rescheduled concert.
However, fans who are unable to attend the rescheduled concert will be able to receive a full refund.
JJ Lin’s Livestream Concert in 2020
Did you know that JJ Lin has been making everyone’s pandemic-filled lives a little brighter since last year?
He held a live stream online concert last year on 30 Oct, performing songs from his 14th album.
Before the release of the album, he had also held a listening party featuring appearances from his friends such as Jackson Wang and Jam Hsiao to commemorate the release of the album with his fans.
The online concert was livestreamed through DouYin, as well as on JJ Lin’s Youtube channel.
