Jollibee might already boast seven existing outlets islandwide, but you know us Singaporeans.
We’ll never be satisfied, especially when it’s fried chicken from Jollibee.
And so, you can only imagine your collective surprise, delight and amazement alike when the Philippines fast-food chain unveiled its latest news:
It’ll be opening another outlet, this time in Waterway Point…
In just three days’ time!
Jollibee Opening in Waterway Point on 18 July 2019
On 11 July, Jollibee issued a reminder of what was to come this 18 July 2019.
And naturally, Netizens went apeshit with joy.
Chicken joy.
But here’s the thing. While news of its impending opening over at Waterway Point is undoubtedly glorious in itself, it seems that the fast-food chain has generated yet another hype factor:
Free gifts
In its follow-up just four hours ago (14 July), Jollibee disclosed some pretty exciting news for the first 100 customers on Opening Day:
They will be entitled to honest to goodness Jollibee exclusives!
With a Jollibee Funko POP up for grabs for the first 5 customers, as well as a Jollibee pillow for the rest, Jollibee has really raised the anticipation factor for fans and toy collectors alike.
Though of course, one would hope that the toys ultimately go to a nice little closet somewhere, and not say, Carousell.
Eighth outlet
The Waterway Point outlet will follow Jollibee’s unveiling of its Woodlands outlet, as well as six existing eateries located at Novena, Paya Lebar, Changi, Jurong East and Lucky Plaza (the latter location possesses two shops).
The brand, which was originally set up as a modest ice-cream parlour in the Philippines, has since gone on to be famous for its juicy and crunchy fried chicken called Chickenjoy. Apart from chicken, the eatery also boasts a typical fast food menu, but with a Filipino slant. This would include burgers, soft serve ice cream, sweetish spaghetti and interestingly, “burger steak” served with mushrooms, gravy and rice.
Jollibee’s also reputable for its wallet-friendly prices, with a piece of chicken and a regular side dish starting from $3.50, and a Chickenjoy rice-and-drink set costing $4.50.
To date, Jollibee owns more than 1,000 stores on its home turf, with at least 80 stores overseas (including countries such as Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Vietnam and the US).
And so… what’re you waiting for?
If you live near Waterway Point, or just want to hop in on the whole Chickenjoy craze, it’s time…
To mark down that calendar.
Date: 18 July
Note: First 100 customers will be entitled to 100 Jollibee exclusives. The first 5 will receive Jollibee Funko POPs, while the rest will receive Jollibee Pillows.
And with that in mind…
I shall see you there. 🙂
