Back in April this year, Kenny Rogers’ last outlet closed down. But now, it has come back, and not just anywhere, but in JEM.
An unexpected hero came in to save our memories: Edmund Chan 老火汤’s parent company, Lao Huo Tang Group of Companies, bought the brand over and revamped the entire menu and system while retaining its name.
Kenny Rogers in JEM
It’s been reported in August that the first outlet would be in JEM, but it was unknown when the doors would open.
Once again, the folks from Singapore Atrium Sale got the scoop and teleported to the place to give us a report.
Its official opening date?
Today (6 October 2019).
Local Food with a Twist
Unlike the Kenny Rogers we were familiar with, the chain’s getting a remake altogether—and that includes its food.
Instead of the usual western fare, Kenny Rogers will now be selling local fares.
Here’s the menu:

Not exactly the cheapest nasi lemak ever, but still reasonable.
And the food looks lit.

Just so you know, it’s Halal certified, so Muslims can enjoy the food there with their non-Muslim pals.
Part of JEM Food Enclave
The retail space near Jurong East MRT Station is competitive, given that there are three malls and a “central” (i.e. shops below HDB shophouses) there.
Kenny Rogers is located in JEM’s revamped basement food enclave, an area filled with many F&B establishments like Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice and Monga.

The Kenny Rogers outlet sits on a 2,200 sq ft space and has 80 seats.
If you’re thinking of waiting for the queues to die off before heading there, kill that thought immediately and head down right now.
Because they’re having an opening promotion.
100 Kenny Rogers VIP Cards will be given to the first 100 customers daily from today until 15 October 2019. This card entitles you to 20% off your total bill every time and is valid for a year.

Now, please excuse me as I make my way to my memories now.
