Today (9 August), it was reported that that she had suddenly experienced convulsions and fainted during a press conference. After receiving CPR, she regained consciousness ten minutes later.

Apparently, Kim collapsed around 11 am during the press conference.

Although her condition improved after emergency treatment on-site, she was taken to the hospital, leading to the cancellation of the event.

Her coach mentioned that this was the first time she had such an incident and that she does not suffer from any chronic illness. The likely cause was her tightly packed schedule since mid-July, accumulating fatigue, and the presence of numerous media reporters, which heightened her anxiety.

Local authorities also suggested that extreme exhaustion could be the reason, and they plan to monitor her health closely.

Kim Ye-ji’s image at the Olympics, with a backward cap and a steely focus, drew comparisons to a movie assassin, captivating a vast number of fans.
